RARE ITEM ALERT! The House of Cogs is pleased to present this utterly gorgeous PRO-used Colnago Dream road bike frame and Precisa steel fork in iconic Team MAPEI colors! I discovered this frameset in the collection of a fellow bicycle hoarder and it will come to you in the used, plenty-of-patina condition seen in the included photographs. Top tube: 60cm Seat tube: 58cm (center-to-center) Headtube: 16.4cm Wheelbase: 1010mm Fork steerer: 1" Seat tube: 27.2mm Fork spacing: 110mm Rear spacing: 130mm The racing pedigree of this frameset speaks for itself: it was handmade by one of the best Italian frame builders. Constructed of custom-drawn crimped Columbus Altec aluminum tubing with a tube profile similar to the Master bikes, but in much-larger-diameter alloy. The Dream range was typically sold with a "Force" carbon fork, this package adds even more style points with its paint-matched Columbus steel "Precisa" fork. The Good: -The paintwork looks quite lovely despite a patina of professional use and 20+ years of life. Dings and faint scuffs abound, but there have been no hack touch-up attempts and the originality of the frame has been maintained. - There are no dings, creases, dents anywhere on the frame. - The included Dura-Ace HP-7410 headset still turns well and is ready for more life. - The fork's steel steerer tube shows some surface corrosion here and there but nothing serious. In my humble opinion the fork is just as cool as the frame. - I have chased the threads of the BB using the correct taps, they are nice and sharp. However the new owner should plan to face the BB as well. - The barrel adjusters turn easily. - I treated the frame and fork to a thorough cleaning with finish using a non-abrasive polish. It looks just gorgeous considering its age. The Not-As-Good: - The original bottom bracket was darn near seized in the frame, so the BB shell shows some signs of tool reminder marks from removal despite patience and liberal use of PB Blaster. Those areas could be touched-up but it's really not so bad. Please see PIC 5 in the gallery to see what I mean. - The area on the seat tube around the front derailleur braze-on tab show some of the "bubbling" that comes standard with any older aluminum frame. The name sticker on the top tube of "SCINTO" means this frameset was ridden by Italian domestique Luca Scinto, a 6'1" powerhouse. I have included a trading card image of Mr. Scinto riding this very frame. Please see the included picture gallery. Enjoy FREE SHIPPING within the USA!
